Bring or send a copy of your Baptismal and Holy Communion Certificate. If you were Baptized or Married at Sacred Heart, or if your sponsor is a member of the parish we will already have that information, so you won't have to bring a certificate. Sponsor form will be found on the parish website or at the Church office. If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to contact us.

PREPARATION FOR THE SACRAMENT OF ADULT CONFIRMATION

1. Find a sponsor: A sponsor is another Catholic who will support you and help prepare you for the Sacrament of Confirmation. They are to be a witness of the faith to you. They must be at least 16 years old, confirmed, and be a practicing Catholic in good standing with the Church (if they are married they must be married in the Catholic Church).  
2. Choose a saint to be your Confirmation name: You may choose a saint that you particularly admire to be your "heavenly sponsor". Take some time to read about saints and choose one whose example you would like to follow.
3. Receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation: By going to confession before receiving Confirmation, your soul will be cleansed of sin and you will be completely open to receive God's graces and the outpouring of the Holy Spirit. Confessions are on Saturday afternoons from 4:00 to 5:00 or you can make an appointment by calling the church office at (719) 589-5829 ext#11.
4. Foster a healthy prayer life: Use this time of preparation to strengthen your relationship with God through prayer.
5. Take time to learn more about the faith: Use this time of preparation to learn more about the faith. Read scripture, the catechism, or other good books or readings about the faith. The more you work to understand the faith, the more it becomes your own.
6. Attend a retreat; the dates will be given in the future.
